THE QUALITIES REQUIRED TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN REAL ESTATE

Our successful consultants have come from a variety of backgrounds, eg, nursing, personnel, banking management, farming, teaching, social work, pharmacy engineering, etc. Most of our successful team have felt frustrated in their previous occupations feeling the need to firstly, be appreciated and secondly, be paid for effort. All successful members of our team are enthusiastic.  They possess the ability to listen, the capacity to communicate, the desire to help people and the will to make a difference. If you identify with these characteristics you could be successful in Real Estate.

OUR HIRING PROCESS

Firstly you need to complete the application form and forward it to our office. If you are selected for an interview, our office will contact you within a few days. There will be several additional interviews and if satisfactory you will be provided with training material. You will be required to read several books and listen to audio tapes followed by a theory exam and a 4 day practical exam. You will need to obtain the necessary licence to operate as a sales person (courses to qualify for a license are available from the TAFE College at Maroochydore and the REIQ at Maroochydore). There will be a probationary period before a permanent appointment is made. From initial contact to preliminary appointment can take several weeks giving both you and us plenty of time to decide.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Pre-start training so that on commencement your salary package will be $55,000 per annum
  • The option for regular bonuses to produce an income in excess of $100,000 per annum
  • Ongoing training

THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW

It is important to be fully informed on what a career in real Estate involves. The hours although flexible can be long, particularly in the first year or so. You are generally helping people who have their own work commitments, so, often days can start at 9:00am and can end well into the night. The Keyline system requires dedication and commitment. Results, however, are more important than long hours. Time management and organizational ability is critical to your success.

WEEKENDS

Weekends are obviously our busiest times so you will need to work many weekends particularly in the early stages of your career. Our office operates an effective roster system to ensure your success.

FAMILY SUPPORT

We consider a career in Real Estate to be like owning a business within a business. You wouldn't buy into a new business without family support, would you? The same applies to real estate. Your family need to feel that they are part of the team.

WHERE SHOULD YOU LIVE

Living in the community in which you work has many benefits. Your chances of success are diluted if you are not part of the local community.

TRAINING

Like any professional operation, training is ongoing. This is by way of weekly training sessions and seminars along with your own commitment to self improvement.

SALES PEOPLE OR CONSULTANTS

We like to think of ourselves as consultants. What we sell is our self and the benefits of our service. Sellers are our clients. We see most sellers as people needing help. The better we care for our sellers, the more successful we will be.

We seek consultants who can develop a high level of trust with their clients.

ATTITUDE

Probably the most important ingredient for success is the right attitude. Attitude is somewhat intangible - a person with the right attitude is someone others want to be with. A person with the right attitude believes in always doing their best. They will always find the best in others. They are attuned to finding what is right in the world, not what is wrong with the world.

CULTURE

Culture is an ingredient that states who you are and where you belong. Culture is something that draws people together. There can be good or bad culture. Culture is a two way thing. The right culture is paramount for the success of an individual and the group.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Communication is about showing that you are interested in people, listening to people, caring for people, helping people, understanding people, walking in the shoes of other people. Communication is listening - listening with your eyes and your ears. It's intuition, it's "getting" what people are not saying as well as what they are saying.

PERSEVERANCE / PERSISTENCE

Never giving up - focus. The determination to make things happen. Not accepting that something can't be done.
